Cromo Waynetan 175

Unlike the traditional method — based on vegetable materials such as bark, wood, leaves and roots, mostly from tropical or subtropical plants like mimosa, quebracho or chestnut — chrome tanning prevents leather from drying out over time.

Hides are subjected to different chemical agents that interact with the collagen fibers of the skin to obtain stable, durable leather. This process transforms the skin's collagen into leather through the chemical reaction of the tanning agents.

Today, 80% of all leather worldwide is tanned this way. Chrome tanning is considered the most versatile, as it also allows hides to be retanned by the vegetable system.

Waynetan 175 is the most consistent and concentrated basic liquid chromium sulphate on the market. It has been used for more than 40 years by many of the world's most important tanners. Cromo Waynetan 175 is ideal for making all kinds of leather, including footwear and the automotive industry.
