Auxiliary and replacement tannins with low environmental impact
The Blancotan® line includes replacement tannins (for soft leathers, for whites, universal retanning agents) and auxiliary tannins (dispersants, neutralizers, pre-tanning agents).
Synthetic tannins are condensation products of formaldehyde with the sulphonic acids of phenol and naphthalene.
In recent years Silvateam has developed low-environmental-impact products by reducing free phenol and formaldehyde content.
Blancotan® synthetic tannins are used as replacement tanning agents, as aids to the tanning action of natural tannic extracts, or as auxiliaries for pre-tanning, retanning and combination tanning, and as dispersants for vegetable tannins and dyes.
